co-medicals

What’s ‘Co-medicals’?

‘Co-medicals’are professionals who engage in health industries as estheticians, physical and mental therapists, practitioners of acupuncture, acupressure, manipulative treatment and massage, excluding licensed medical doctors and dentists.

Cooperation with co-medicals

Co-medicals are at the responsible position for their customer’s health, however, what they can do to the customers for the daily healthcare is quite limited due to various legal constraints. For instance, co-medicals are not allowed to sell a supplement with specific claim of its efficacy, despite that doctors and dentists can give their advice to intake supplements as a part of therapy. But they would be able to break through the shell, by having proper collaboration with doctors and dentists: JTA’s ‘Teleconcerge’ qualification is one way to make it happen.

A practitioner of manipulative treatment, Mr.A had a patient, Mr.B who described his symptoms of bad shoulder stiffness to the clinic. As Mr.A dispensed his treatment to Mr.B, he came to think of a possibility of high blood pressure as an essential cause for the shoulder stiffness, therefore, he also felt the need of a lifestyle guidance including prescription of effective supplement for radical care. However, he had to face inevitable legal restraints of Medical Practitioners Act and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act to do so.

Once Mr.A got a qualification of ‘Teleconcerge’, he would be able to take an advantage of direct linkage with JTA’s allied medical clinics. For example, if Mr.A sent information of Mr.B to an allied medical clinic online, he would get 1) a professional guidance or program for symptomatic improvement, 2) a proper recommendation of supplements by way of legal procedure of telemedication. This may helps Mr.A to be confident in providing Mr.B with appropriate and intensive healthcare services as a qualified‘teleconcerge’. ( The above 1) includes a blood test, a detox test and an intestinal flora test utilizing advanced telemedicine devices and techniques.)
